The Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR) and the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC) are pleased to host the "VIII Modular Training in Laboratory Animal Course" from November 11th to 22nd, 2024 (Function A and B) and from December 16th to 19th 2024 (Special Skills). 

The course follows the guidelines of the European Commission regarding training in laboratory animal sciences. This approach recognizes that training should be correlated with needs. Participants can select the functions or modules that meet their requirements. 

The course is mainly intended for applicants who wish to apply for National Accreditation (Directorate General of Food and Veterinary - DGAV), but also to those who wish to acquire basic theoretical knowledge on the area of Laboratory Animal Sciences. 

Theoretical classes, scheduled to occur between November 11th to 22nd, 2024 (Function A and B) will be held at iCBR auditorium, and from December 16th to 19th 2024 (Special Skills), will be held at CNC-UC auditorium (FMUC, polo I, 2nd floor). 

Practical classes will be performed in the animal facilities of the CNC-UC (Mice), iCBR (Rats) and ICNAS according to the schedule presented below. For these classes trainees will be subdivided into groups, according to date of registration and training modality.
