Within the framework of the ongoing collaboration between CiBB and UC Exploratório, a joint science communication project is being developed as part of the exhibition Talking Brains, funded by the “la Caixa” Foundation.
On display at UC Exploratório from March 2025 to February 2026, the exhibition Talking Brains explores language as one of the most distinctive characteristics of the human species, highlighting its central role in communication, thought, knowledge construction, and in the relationship between brain, mind, and society. The exhibition promotes an interdisciplinary perspective on the brain and language, aligning with several research areas developed at CiBB.
Within this initiative, one of the main collaborative actions consists of the production of chronicles and opinion articles by CiBB researchers for regional media outlets. These texts build bridges between the scientific research carried out at the center, current societal issues, and the themes raised by the exhibition, fostering informed, accessible, and relevant reflection for non-specialist audiences.
Regular participation in these opinion spaces represents an opportunity to:
Manuel Valença, Sandra Silvestre, Lídia Pereira (UC Exploratório)
Maria Inês Guimarães, Eduardo Sorte
