The Advanced Courses of the 22nd edition of the Doctoral Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) are about to start, offering cutting-edge training in various fields of biomedical research. A total of 16 specialized courses will be offered from 14 October 2024 to 23 May 2025.
Hosted by the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of the University of Coimbra (IIIUC) and coordinated by the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC), the PDBEB has shaped the careers of numerous researchers, entrepreneurs, academics and science communicators in its 21 editions.
"The PDBEB provides a comprehensive multidisciplinary experience, cultivating a dynamic learning environment that equips students with deep expertise in different areas of biomedicine. This solid foundation empowering our students is reflected in the outstanding achievements of PDBEB graduates at prestigious Institutions worldwide," says Nuno Empadinhas, coordinator of the Programme.
The Advanced Courses are open to all PDBEB students, as well as participants from other Doctoral Programmes, both from within and outside the University of Coimbra. In the 2024/2025 academic year, topics will cover a wide range, including exposure to cutting-edge technological platforms, experimental design, science communication, computational biology, neuroscience, circadian rhythm, metabolism, drug development, and advanced therapies, among others.
Each course, coordinated by CNC-UC researchers, includes lectures by leading national and international experts.
