In 2025, the Robalo Cordeiro Award from the Portuguese Society of Pulmonology (SPP) honored five researchers from CNC-UC: Ana Rita Álvaro, Bárbara Santos, Laetitia Gaspar, Bárbara Ramalho, and Cláudia Cavadas. The award is given for their involvement in the project Apneascreener— Innovation in the Diagnosis and Monitoring of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome.
In addition to CNC-UC, the project also involved the Coimbra Local Health Unit (ULS) and the University of Beira Interior (UBI). The winning team includes doctors and technicians from the Coimbra Local Health Unit Sleep Medicine Center, Teresa Costa and Mafalda Ferreira, and UBI researcher Virginie Felizardo.
The award ceremony took place on November 29, at the closing dinner of the 41st SPP Congress in Vilamoura.
