Overview
The Microscopy Imaging Center of Coimbra (MICC-CNC), part of the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, is a centralized facility dedicated to supporting researchers with cutting-edge expertise in both conventional and advanced light microscopy techniques. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by a team of experts, MICC-CNC serves both academic researchers and industry partners, fostering a collaborative environment for scientific research and education within the CiBB community.
To fulfill its mission, MICC-CNC provides:
- Technical Training: Comprehensive support for local and visiting researchers to master light microscopy techniques.
- Experimental and Analytical Consultation: Guidance on experimental design and image analysis for optimal research outcomes.
- Access to Advanced Technologies: Integration of the latest advancements in light microscopy hardware and software tailored to biomedical sciences.
- Educational Initiatives: Organization of regular advanced training courses and workshops to foster expertise in cutting-edge bioimaging methodologies.
As part of the PPBI – Portuguese Platform of BioImaging, a pivotal infrastructure within the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures of Strategic Relevance, MICC-CNC holds a significant role in both the national and international microscopy community. PPBI is a member of ERIC – Euro-BioImaging, further enhancing MICC-CNC’s integration into the global bioimaging landscape. Additionally, MICC-CNC is a partner of the ZEISS labs@location initiative, a global community of ZEISS customers providing specialized expertise and dedicated services.
