Ciência Viva no Laboratório, the program to occupy young people with science during the vacations, is back. This year, between September 1-5, we'll be welcoming students from 9th to 12th grade and vocational education to the CNC-UC laboratories. Registration for the internships is now open.
Ciência Viva no Laboratório is a summer internship program for students from 9th to 12th grade and vocational education, which offers young people the chance to intern for free in some of Portugal’s leading scientific institutions.
The internships, promoted by Ciência Viva - National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture, in collaboration with research units and R&D (Research and Development) companies, last between one and three weeks and are accompanied by one researcher for every two students.
This initiative has already given around 20,000 students across the country the opportunity to get to know the reality of scientific research up close and has played a decisive role among young Portuguese, helping to clarify career options related to science and technology.
CNC-UC is once again promoting this initiative, offering 6 internships, with a total of 15 spots, running between September 1-5:
