The researcher at CNC-UC/CiBB Bruno Manadas was elected President of PROCURA — Portuguese Association of Proteomics, during its recent general assembly. He will lead the upcoming international proteomics congress, and his election marks a new chapter in the leadership of proteomics research in Portugal.
As part of his new role, Bruno Manadas will also serve as President of the 6th and next joint international proteomics meeting between Portugal, Spain, and France, scheduled to take place in Vilamoura from 20 to 22 May 2026. This prestigious event will bring together leading scientists from across the Iberian Peninsula and France to share advances in mass spectrometry, protein analysis, and systems biology.
The upcoming congress in Vilamoura is expected to feature a dynamic scientific program, including keynote lectures, thematic sessions, and presentations by early-career researchers. By hosting this trilateral meeting, Procura reinforces its commitment to international collaboration and highlights Portugal’s growing influence in the proteomics field.
